Michigan Language Assessment helps people achieve their education and career goals by providing trusted English language exams that draw on the expertise of two of the world’s leading universities.

It is a not-for-profit collaboration between the University of Michigan and Cambridge Assessment English, two institutions with long and distinguished histories in the field of language assessment, teaching, and research.

Michigan Language Assessment is used for a variety of purposes in different countries.

EXAMS

The Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English is used to demonstrate high-intermediate (CEFR level B2) proficiency in English for education or professional purposes, typically outside the United States and Canada.

The Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English is used to demonstrate advanced (CEFR level C2) proficiency in English for educational or professional purposes, typically outside the United States and Canada.

Young Learners Tests of English are used to test young learners on their use of American English.

Michigan Young Learners English Test is used to document level of proficiency in English ranging from CEFR level A2 to C1 for educational or employment purposes, typically outside the United States and Canada
